Anvil surged 13.22% on TSX last night.

The turnover on surging share price is the thing -- over 6 million shares traded. Average day turnover is 1.77 million - but average includes similarly huge turnovers of late. An average of about 1 million is more realistic.

Anvil is being upgraded in Canada to "OUTPERFORM - target price $3" (Canadian) or $3.43 Australian based on present production and present price of copper!

The following comment from another source may explain some of the strong interest in Anvil (all prices in Canadian - add 15% for rough conversion. --------------->

$2.50 is nothing. Wait till they complete the Kinsevere Stage II. Once the market knows they secured the funds
this stock will pop to more than $3 easily. Once they start producing at stage II, AVM will be one of the lowest cost per lb CU producer on track to produce over 220mil lbs cu annually. If they can achieve that by 2010 or 2011 and copper holds at least where it is now, AVM will be proving ~ $264mil free cash flow annually and with copper at $2.50 that will be more than $350mil cash flow or $3.5 EPS. So once the markets improve I say a 3 year target of $15 SP is achievable
