Walked past the business show on sunday morning which is what i do.But then i heard new hope mentioned so i walked back and replayed it. -clearly first apparently bhp intends to close mount authur coal mine in hunter valley in 2030. - the general conversation was around the continuation of coal demand and coal prices out till the 2040's. - it was suggested mt authur requires the 'correct co' to run it from 2030's onwards. -it was suggested new hope is interested. -For me the interesting part was new hope appears to have a good reputation for rehabilitation of mines which mt arthur would require in the 2040.s.
Just thought it was interesting especially the reputation regarding the rehabilitation of mines. ps also they mentioned how qld has stuffed potential investment in mining and would the govt be stupid enough to introduce a super tax and kill the golden goose. gltahs
