    They intend to produce merchant pig iron, not iron ore. They plan to convert magnetite (and ilmenite?) to MPI, which will cost. But its high margin. the lowest cost iron ore operation you can have is direct shipping of hematite - you dig it up and ship it to the customer as is.

    your question doesnt make sense on any level.
