One of my dad's biggest investing mistakes was that he wanted to buy a few hundred thousand bucks worth of FMG debt, back when they were issuing high yield stuff. The wealth advisors couldn't get him a line of it as it was popular or he wasn't qualified enough to participate, i can't remember exactly.

He only realised later he could have just bought the shares just above $1 instead - a really stupid oversight by his advisors and himself ... he would have had 500,000 shares of FMG.

He didn't repeat that mistake on Afterpay and just went very large very early in the shares instead of being an income focused buffet zombie who listened to wealth advisors.

We now have 25000 FMG which will have to do. The fact Morningstar thinks it's 70+% over valued gives me great comfort it's under valued.
