This will be an interesting case study for the Congo. Is the government serious about structured development that will in the long run benefit local society or continue to allow the anarchic artisinal mining whereby its typically the metal traders that make the money not the actual miners. Anvil need to market themselves to the locals so they understand the SXEW plant will be built and people will have long term, stable skilled employment, schools etc - or they can continue grovelling in pits.
