I will just try to keep this simple
Recycled paper is one of the worst environmental disasters unknown to man.
Paper pulp comes from wood chip. With wood chip for paper pulp you want the cleanest wood possible as to make white paper, the amount of bleach required is exorbitant and toxit to our society.
So, to reduce bleaching needs, pine is selected as the raw material.
Pine in Australia is exotic. We do not have a pinus species native to Australia.
Pinus eliotii
Pinus caribaea
Are the two major species planted in massive plantations in NSW and QLD.
Pinus radiata is the most common in southern NSW and VIC.
None of the pinus species are ever eaten by Koala's or any other native species of animal.
The trees are planted as a crop, specifically for the purpose of harvesting, as we do with wheat and a myriad of other crops.
These massive plantations are significant in their oxygen production, but more important to the point, they are massive absorbers of atmospheric carbon.
So.
When white paper is put in the waste bin, the waste is taken to land fill.
The land full is buried. The paper (wood pulp) disintegrates and composts into the soil. The carbon from the wood fibres is released and then stored naturally within the soil.
Therefore, throwing away used paper is extremely good for the environment.
Recycled paper on the other hand is an envonmental hoax..
The paper has to be bleached a second time, to remove ink and colour. The fibres once again have to undergo digestion to separate out the shives for reconstitution.
The paper is formed again and then the shive size ratio is compromised.
The pulp must have more virgin pulp added to give the paper strength.
The pulp is then bleached a second time.
Implications :
Paper is not returning its carbon to the soil.
The amount of bleaching is killing fish due to the effluent being pumped out to sea.
The release of carbon due to double and tripple production in order to achieve 'recycled'
Is a Negative for the environment in every way possible
