    it goes back to schools funding Alonso.... funding has been cut and covered over with caveats that money was not allowed to be spent under the Morrison plan for achieving a budget surplus.

    there's also a battle between non-gov schools wanting more and more money from Gov at the cost of money going the public schools.

    thanks to democracy we now have a Gov that is committed to more balanced budgetary decisions, one committed to transparency and support for the most disadvantaged instead of boosting the pockets of the most advantaged.

    education is among the most important expenses that any gov has, and running education effectively, which might not seem as efficient according tot eh views of some, means that kids from all sectors of the community have equal opportunities.

    its not as Morison said "if you have a go, you'll get a go" because many don't have the opportunity to "have a go". the best that any Gov can do is to ensure that all students have the opportunity to have a go.
