why does everyone care about guidance so much. we were given guidance from IPO onwards, all proved to be inaccuarate and has cost most of us a heap of cash!
i thought it was one of the smartest moves the CEO made when he jumped on board. Removing guidance during a period of restucture isn't just smart, it's essential, cause you never know what you are going to have left at the end of the restruture, costs, revenue, assets will all change. How can you give guidance when you don't know how many leggo blocks you will have left?
the problem i have had so far is that the announcement have not explained the material changes that have been made to the business. ie: what effect did the sale of non-core assets have on revenue?
i have faith in the new CEO, but i would like to know more.
we will hear more in the half yearly report in mid-august. hopefully this will provide the answers i am looking for. it won't have guidance in it as we are probably only halfway through the restructure!
