I acknowledge that the so-called "Brisbane Line" in WW2 was a ridiculous plan. Also the catastrophic military decisions leading to the fall of Singapore and the entire loss of an Australian military division. Thank God the Yanks were on our team.
In hindsight; I would have pushed for all Australian troops and resources to be concentrated to Northern Australia and attempted to engage the Japanese in the Timor Sea region. Hopefully by this time, the Yanks would be sweeping across the East Pacific to the West, and the Indians from West Asia to the East disrupting Japanese military supply lines. Always easy to see looking back in retrospect.
Churchill was still a great leader despite some of his mistakes and flaws.
