Labor are stuck in the old Socialist/Marxist mindset of the proletariat vs bourgeoisie; where the Greens have adopted the new age Socialist/Marxist mindset of just destroying everything and using equality as the reason.
This new age Socialism/Marxism formed due to the British abolishing slavery combined with capitalism raising so many people out of poverty, essentially rendering Karl Marx's theory of the proletariat vs bourgeoisie dead. So now that Karl Marx's theory will never eventuate in the Western world, we have Postmodernism that was founded on Critical Theory. This is the new strain of Socialism/Marxism that the Greens support now, and Labor will adopt in the not too distant future.
Morrison, Bishop, Payne, Pyne, and Turnbull (to mention a few in the Liberal Party) have all been infected with this socialist strain of new age Socialism/Marxism.
