I reckon it's a bad "thing" that the Top20 shareholders list is only published once a year in the full year report[last page usually].
I predict that Share Registry Breakdown on say a month/3 month basis will be a Future Indicator.
It'll all be done by Computershare Holding Updates and perhaps categories of shareholders established based on say-
Long Term/Short Term Holders filtered by Size of Holdings to give us some data on who[by category] is selling or buying.
I see it as most useful for Mid Cap & below shares.
Blue Chips are difficult to keep track of,Market Depth/Register Change wise because of Arbitrage and derivatives[esp cfd's] distortion, let alone volume numbers.
Anyway,if you have an interest in Top 20 Holder Moves, you should take note of Volume prior to the Record Date in August[ish.]
Often transfers distort the prior Volume with "shuffling" going on to hide Holdings, distribute to controlled entities etc just to avoid hitting the Top 20 list publish date.
and of course the Key Holder in Takeover scenarios is Ten Percent or as close to.
d'Ten%er can block an average takeover by d'90% acceptance criteria,or make the aggressor up their bid.
Who holds around 10% of TOX?Management?
It'd be "sad" if THEY[m'gt] went for TOvr cos they kept Their dayjobs hey?
Shaft us Pilgrims while grasping d'Brass Ring.
ohh d'perils of passive,capitalist investing!!
I reckon it's a bad "thing" that the Top20 shareholders list is...
