    The use of tungsten in battery anodes as an alternative to current standard lithium batteries will be a very interesting facet to see play out - research on this has been going on for quite some years and is now just coming to the fore. But the really interesting aspect of this is, apart from the efficiency and rapidity in charging, is the potential for it to be regarded as SAFER.

    I found the below snippet in my research, which gives a sense of what is possible....


    " Mostconventional negative electrodes in lithium-ion batteries are made of graphite,which has a high energy density, explains Grey. However, when charged at highrates, spindly lithium fibres known as dendrites form. These can create a shortcircuit and cause the batteries to catch fire, or even explode.

    “Inhigh-rate applications, safety is a bigger concern than under any other operatingcircumstances,” she says. “These materials and potentially others like them,would definitely be worth looking at for fast-charging applications where youneed a safer alternative to graphite."
