I'm very very familiar with "the new case for gold" and have been following the story for decades .... waiting for the golden sunrise is like waiting for fusion to replace fission ... it may happen one day, but in the meantime we have to live in the real world, and trade the trend not the theory. Agile short term traders, are agnostic about the commodity or the sector .... take profits when can, "the commodity leads" and beware of "true believer stocks" etc etc. Lithium and nickel true believers dreams have been shattered, and they been left holding the ashes of gunna stocks, even thought 'everyone knows' that the EV revolution will require endless amounts of lithium and nickel .... in the future. Looking in the 'rear mirror' aka examining ones performance and the company and sector performance should be routine, rather than brushing aside SP peaks as mere fluctuations that true believers are entitled to ignore ... this is not the way of successful professional investors. The more things change ... the more they stay the same.
