I note in your post a rather dismissive comment"Some lousy permit in Vietnam".Such a comment surprises me simply because Oil prospecting is receiving a lot of attention from major oil companies right around the world,including those from Usa,Uk,Russia and more recently Australia with Santos entering into a JV with Viet Oil.Oil sales from from production wells located off shore in the South China Sea is the number ONE $ earner for Vietnam.The Vietnamese Government actively and quite cleverly encourages these major International Oil companies to participate in JVentures but not ownership.Recommend you read up what is happening in this country today,in fact VN curently has highest annual growth rate in South east Asia,exceeding 8% per annum.Oil revenues are what is keeping this country somewhat cushioned from the GFC as they too have had taken a big hit with their manufactured
goods export sector.
