You probably just answered yourself without knowing it because what can sometimes happens is that the share price drops by more than 7 cents after the dividend is paid ...instead of making their profit out of the dividend they hope to make a bigger profit from the dividend chasers who sell soon after collection. The scramble out tends to overshoot the price downward and the time before the next reports by company tend to extend the possibility of price dropping by more than 7c . I'm hoping the price drops too so I can buy in cheaper at some stage.
