big stink in port macquarie

Ex-Owner/Editor of local Port Macquarie local rag, has known Oakeshott for 20 years, is to do a bulk mail-out to all the businesses in the Oakeshott electoral area, spurred on by all the phone calls and personal pleas he's getting of outrage over the stance Oakeshott took recently.

This man, a Mr. Greg? Thompson, is just as livid as the others. He describes Oakeshott as always having been a closet Labor/Greeny -ite since his state government days.
For some reason he has a festering hatred of the Nationals. He also stated that the fact that Oakeshott will now have the ear of PM Gillard once a fortnight is downright dangerous, given his true colors just emerged.

He also alleged Oakeshott was instrumental in securing the sacking of the "perfectly good" (in Thompson's words) Port Macquarie Council - he states in league with the then NSW Premier Iemma.

He states he, personally, has seen through this man's facade. And sadly, many others did not, and voted for him in good faith as being a conservative and an ex National. But, he states, he has always had a burning hatred of the Nationals, and never had any intention of going with the Liberals. It was all just smoke and mirrors, according to Thompson, who agreed the same could be said about Windsor.

He also remarked that Oaksehott has a colossal ego!

As the intervew wasn't pursued beyond this, not sure when the letter is going out, or what it contains.

Seems the Port Macquarie locals are as mad as hell, and revolting in a huge backlash.
