Thanks, Hoyer, that is a really nice swell coming along. Twelve metre swells are not uncommon in the Southern ocean but they tend to travel due East and dissipate somewhat near Tasmania. If even a component of that heads towards Fremantle it will be a great test for CETO. We need this at some stage and it is best to occur before the C6 design is complete. The energy relief system is the mechanism we know least about and it determines the BA’s survivability. When asked, MO said, “We have never shown how that works.” It still has to obey the laws of physics.
What might be the swell height when that storm patch nears Fremantle’s longitude? The location (depth) of the C5s wouldn't easily support 10m swells.
