It depends on how you look at the numbers. The return looks tiny if you calculate return based on say 95 cents. But if you are getting 75 cents within 3 months, consider the 75 cents as just a deposit to be able to play. Which means 20 cents is actual capital you are putting in. If the total return is $1.01 then you are 6 cents in front after 12 months. And I would rather look at it from an optimistic view. That is, AMP will get approval from China to return another 20 cents by end of March. It is not a sure winner and you should not buy in if you do not like the return. Also, AUD vs USD movement will affect the capital return.
