my comment was relying on a foggy memory...actually the ernie bridge's idea was to dam the fitzroy river...daming all the rivers is an extension of that idea, subject to feasibility studies...it worked for the 600km mundaring-kalgoorlie pipeline... the big worry was that no one knew how long the gold industry would last and if the scheme would be wasted efort.
no one questions the longevity of the resource industry today..no one questions the value of potable water..the water availability may be tranient but the infrastructure is not....potash extraction for 40 years plus... will be a cash cow for michael ruane and his decendants,..because idiot shareholders are allowing him to acumilate the control of the company at 5c a share.
