Yes I agree, why would WPL agree to an extension, why would it be in their interests?? Yes indeed.
My conjecture is that it is possible that WPL has been given no choice.
Say there is a CNE/FAR deal with a third party perhaps Shell/Total on the table.
Then either WPL say no to the extension and they are out, walk away empty handed or
Agree to the extension and then be party to talks between FAR and or CNE and try to trump perhaps.
That is, some kind of back room bidding.
All pure speculation.
