Even if the probability of the global warming naysayers being correct is 99%, that 1% chance of being wrong is completely unacceptable given voiceless future generations will suffer from our inaction.
Sometimes we are called to make certain sacrifices for future generations. Our ANZAC forefathers gave up their lives for us to prosper. Etc.
If the above doesnt ring your bell... just call it intergenerational altruism or an intergenerational insurance policy.
