    Berretta.

Berretta, you can do the numbers for yourself with quick Google searches.

Installed global coal fired capacity is about 1600GW. A 747 at cruising altitude is consuming about 65000KW.

So it would take the four engines from 25 million cruising 747's to produce as much energy as all the world's coal fired power stations.

They are the simple imperial numbers from which you can look at the amount of planes in the world and the relative CO2 emissions from the fuels per unit of energy, and decide whether or not 2% for aviation is probably about right.

So Berretta, rather than hide behind a veil of conspiracy, do yourself and the forum a favour and check the numbers first.
