The politicians in Greece, Social Democrats, agreed with you 100%. Every drachma they borrowed was for ultra worthwhile causes. When the right wing tried to slow the momentum down they got voted out.
When voters have tasted govt cash then they can never get enough, whether it be for health, education or retiring at 55 years of age. The voters wrongly assume that the Social Democrats et al are dishing out the cash in a responsible way.
Finally, just like Wayne, Bill will borrow all the billions that he fails to raise in taxes.
