Given the SP of most Cu juniors is near all time lows what the hell are the majors waiting for? Either the majors believe Cu and/or junior SP prices will go lower and/or they don't believe their competitors are actively looking at M&A / JV's at this time either so they can wait it out. Was CE's online commentary regarding big players in the data room merely more smoke and mirrors to try and appease retail? I too am surprised we haven't seen anything from Codelco, BHP, Teck*, FQML or even Glencore taking a larger stake already.
* albeit Teck may be very low on funding given QBII cost blowout.
