If they do the open cut the smelter and concetrator( moved to new location) and other infrastructure have to go as its in the footprint of the pit. I saw scamatics of the pit over 20 years ago something around 50 year mine life they just wating on the Cu price.
also the rail line was maxed out so couldnt just ship a million tonnes of concentrate pa back in the day.
