an online article estimating copper needs to produce sufficient qty of solar/wind farms in the next 20 years so as to replace 80% of fossil energy power came up with this calc
7,500 tons copper x 61,739 (500 MW) solar farms = 463,042,500t @ 20Mt global production (2019 USGS) = 463,042,500 tonnes copper required or 23x current global production
(going to need a lot of Tier 1 cu discoveries)
