So, it's ok for some bloke like Donald Trump to carry on about bringing manufacturing back to the USA -
but, it's not ok for an aspiring PM of Australia to speak of manufacturing batteries when Australia has all the natural resources it needs to manufacture those batteries?
Including extremely difficult to acquire metals like Cobalt -- which the biggest car company in the world was running around like a headless chook trying to tie up supply at the miners doorsteps (including in Australia) - ref. See Hot Copper.
You guys really need to grow up ---------- either you want manufacturing - or you don't -
when you decide - make sure you use the argument across the board and not selectively to just support your pathetic political biases
Personally, I don't particularly like the idea - but, you will find that my opposition to manufacture is complete - no matter who's ideas they are - Labor or Liberal -
it's called being honest
what I would go for in a HUGE way is research - invent, innovate, develop and flog the licences - that's where I would go -
use the royalty flows from lithium and cobalt and the like - fund the hell out of University research and just go for it --
again - at least Labor has a plan --------------- the liberals have NO plan -- I say again - google 'Liberal party policy' - that will lead you to their pages which take you to 'our plan'
there ISN'T a plan ---
Bill Shorten looks like God in comparison
