Gee lucky the government stepped in and did a secretive deal to save the Bell Bay smelter. It was only a 5 year deal so it could shut in 2020.
Your hydro power was running on diesel only 2 years ago as they had no water.
Om holdings run smelters in Malaysia and buy their hydro power for 3 cents a kw. So i am guessing without subsidies the Bell Bay smelter would close.
Not politics just business sense.
