I have a feeling that Eveready still makes batteries here, but a union hack like Bill wouldn't seek council from someone in a related field to support his case. When we manufacture stuff-all, how can he suggest that we'll make them here, without giving some feasibility? If he wants the whole electric car thing to work, we can't have it outpriced by labour cost. Maybe, if Bill puts on his union cap to represent the workers, that would keep labour cost down.
Duracell was over at North Ryde, although I haven't been there for twenty years to know whether they are still there.
