That was my point I'm all for manufacturing in this country but pray tell how we make low value mass produced items like a battery with our high cost of production?
It cannot happen. You're ignoring a trend that's been going on in Australia for decades.
The comparison with USA is not that strong either They have a population ten times bigger than ours so efficiency of scale is a major factor. But you only have to go visit the country to see exactly the same thing has happened to their manufacturing sector. And that's with wages and conditions generally a lot lower than ours.
It seems you're desperate to be led by someone, ANYONE, and Bill Shorten has sucked you right in.
Me, I've already read the wind years ago and realised that neither the ALP nor the LNP can do what you yearn for. It's not going to happen. Time for you to grow up yourself and work it out.
