    At the moment it doesn't really matter putting too much analysis on whether it'll go his way or not.

    The problem is that it MIGHT go against him. Tony is terrified of that possibility. It'll CEMENT exactly what many people have thought of him (and possibly what he's thought of himself) ... that he's simply not a statesman ... he doesn't have "it"

    The thought that he might lose terrifies the snot out of him and he won't call it.

    Labor should hit the budget as hard as they possibly can. Make Tony squirm for every line item and goad him into calling a DD ... one way or the other - it'll FORCE him to directly defend his budget to the people and the people will decide whether what he said before September matches up with what he's done now.

    All the Coalition people on here can piss and moan all they want but in the court of public opinion, Tony Abbott is getting punished!
