Just to clarify medicare does cover hospital treatment at no charge and that system is not so much under threat because if you are accepted as a public patient treatment is free unlike what happens when you go to see your GP or specialist. You don’t have a choice of doctor in hospital as a public patient and their can be significant waiting times for some treatments but that has been the case for ages.
