that kind of stuff has been around for decades on computers - it might not be in an app - but, it's somewhere and cross info between say centrelink and tax has been in place since adam was a boy

IMO - I believe that every Australian should be registered with centrelink - from birth.

Of course there's potential problems from ID theft - but, there's that no matter what

I'm just going on the crap I had to do in the last few weeks, I could not opt out on what was required, and when set up and see what is already linked to you without asking is scary stuff.
