With regards your question to the OP it's well understood that a Country would fail to function if, for example, the electricity grid was wiped out with an EM Bomb or Satellites were knocked out.
Everything except sex pretty much relies on electricity
. Banking, transport, health, government services. You need a Centrelink online account to get your pension, same with your salary.. you need an online bank account for that. Everything is run, managed and stored using electricity and sadly we are now relying on Blackout Bowen to provide that source of power. Trying buying food and medicines with a debit card when there is no power. Examples of customers being turned away from supermarkets are common when there is an internet or power outage. Generators only last for so long until the diesel runs out and there are no more fuel deliveries because pumps don't work at the fuel terminal and trucks are all sitting idle by the side of the road.
I've read somewhere that society would fail to function within weeks of a power/internet failure.
