we normally don’t know who is buying who is selling, but for some brokers, this is one of their basic skills, expecially for knowing holding movements of the top 100 shareholders.
Once they detect a substantial shareholder is dumping they will act accordingly, until most of shares acquired.
Information asymmetry & inside trading are actually two natures of the stock market.
