MIG spent $999,999,998 buying back 292m of its shares.
They paid prices from 3.88 back in February 07 down to 2.90 in November 07.
The average price they paid was $3.42
The don't seem to have done much good propping up the share price for MIG.
It gets even more shady. Various macquarie entities were doing vast amounts of trading during december, including before and after the strange spike on 7 December. Most of the transactions were sells ( allegedly ) but Macqusrie's nett interest in MIG still managed to increase from 8.7% to 9.8%.
Hmm. shady.
