    I was in Japan, Hong Kong, Vietnam and Taiwan and this scenario you mention was the same in all theses countries.

    I believe it's an Asian thing and won't change for some years, Australia being the only real 'western'country in Asia kind of stands apart. Hopefully India is only the tip of the iceberg.
