if legislators were only addressing the "squeaky wheel' men would have much more impact over the laws. lets not forget most pollies over the years have been men.

back in the 60s and earlier, women had very few rights. Whitlam made divorce easier and this was improved by the Hawke govt as women became recognised as the best single parent option and enabled children to become the main priority. since then (the '90s) men have been squeaky wheeling so bloody loudly ("there's no justice, just us") that legislation was change by the Howard govt to try to redress the supposed imbalance.

what I noticed from the rise of mens' groups that arose at the time was most were quite aggressive in demanding their 'rights'. there was a claim that they were victims of the system..... but of course they weren't aware that women had been the massive losers for hundreds of years before this modern time.

women use different tactics to men and vice versa. our main approach is physical because its how we've been brought up, how our hormones work, how our brains understand our instinctual reactions. women, being physically, generally not as strong or as physically aggressive as men, use their brains more and react after careful planning, not reactionary or instinctual.
