poverty is a huge stressor

how to move people from poverty to better lives? Where to begin?

Well - 2 areas to hit with a very very large wallet

1.Housing
2. Education


1. House people - it's called social housing
2. feed people - make sure they have enough money for food and heat or cooling and power
3. Educate them - when they are housed and fed - provide education - provide it free

when you have a growing crop of tertiary educated people - with 'real educations' not merely job training -

you MUST by then, have industries already set up to ABSORB your graduates

there is no point having tertiary trained people - if they have no opportunities in their own country - so, they either bugger off overseas and places like America or Europe reap the benefit ------------ you as a nation and as government need to GROW new industries

how do you do that? --------------- SEZs - not a bad way to begin.

and the main magic ------------- RESEARCH. GENERAL research - fund the hell out of it.

etc.


NONE of the above are done by Australia

and, by god - don't the results show.


Australia needed to look at spending and investment in it's people and things like education ------------- NOT as a cost - but as an investment.
Australia needed to understand that the biggest beneficiary of education was indeed - Australia itself ----------------- and Australia should have paid for it - because Australia is the user
Oz has failed because it thought that it's citizens were the user - they are not.
