Tim Flannery declared that Australia would be ruined. No rain would mean that cities would be waterless. He said "Adelaide might run out of water by early 2009".
Currently Adelaide's storage is 84% according to the SA Water web site.
The Tugun (Gold Coast) desalination plant can cost up to $1 million to maintain according to the Gold Coast Bulletin. Presumably other of these Labor govt white elephants cost the same.
I haven't heard Flannery say anything about this massive waste of tax payers money.
