“Varun Ratra, of the newsletter Eye Between Bulls & Bears, has increased his lead in week three of the Shares Race, with the performances of 5G Network and Bingo Industries supporting his star pick Astivita.
-His original $10,000 invested in Astivita, which imports and distributes kitchen and bathroom products, among other products, maintains it gain of last week, to be worth almost $34,000.
-Ratra's pick of 5G Network, which is also held by Angie Ellis of 80 20 Investments, is worth just over $12,000.
Bingo Industries, a waste management and recycling services provider, is worth just over $12,000 to take Ratra's total portfolio value to $125,436, up from from $121,427 last week.
That's a big lead over second-placed Chris Conway, of the sharemarket newsletter Marcus Today, whose portfolio is worth $106,865.
Conway just ahead of last week's second-place holder, Lucy Battersby, the markets reporter for the SMH and The Age, whose portfolio is now worth $106,092.
The share market, as measured by the S&P/ASX 300 index, was up just over 2 per cent to 6,628 points as at the close on Thursday – the day the Shares Race ends for the week.
That was an 11.5 year high, as investors increasingly believe the Reserve Bank of Australia will cut official interest rates again at its July meeting”
