I truly don't get binge drinking ...

this is because we believe the world is a good place, particularly its economic materialism.

for teenagers, subconsciously, the materialist values of the world are often something very alien & difficult to accommodate. for them, the world is far too a serious place:

1. the education

2. the economic goals & priorities

3. the sex (rather than nurturing) based sexuality

all these things & more alienate, burden & frustrate the spirit of youth, however, on a subconscious level

until one is fully conscious of this, one takes substances as a means of going to another place
