Thanks for the link to the 2006 report Doodlebug.
This map from it shows a very close relationship between the Fortescue "cover sequence" and the underlying Archaean basement. This is detail that is 'simplified' out of the full Pilbara map in my previous posts.
If the Egina mentioned on this map is the same locality as that with water melon seed Au nuggets then there is a confluence of early structural gold and perhaps conglomerate hosted Au.
Soil sampling boundaries show the Fortescue Group cover was recognized and NOT sampled in 2006.
There is gold out there - bring on exploration plus the drills and detectors....
