Just saw a news item on channel ten covering biodegradable stents developed in europe and currently being trialled in Sydney and elsewhere with early signs of success. The stent is made up of corn starch and dissolves away to nothing.

Pains me to see someone else running with this type of product which could very well be a blockbuster.

Why did Medtronic/Calzada walk away from their development agreement in the stent field? Can it be resurrected or is it too late?
