5% is a huge amount at the margin its the difference between deficit and surplus. There's a good reason non-fuel crops are running too. They all have the same inputs: land, fertilizer, energy, wate. If you grow a fuel crop you displace a food crop.
With the current speculation in the oil markets fuel crops become more valuable, farmers switch to them and out of food crops.
