Maybe if there had of been more profits available for both farmers and farm input suppliers for the last 40 years we mightn't have found ourselves in the current dilemna we are in ... why should it be so strange that farmers can actually make a quid. I think most people think they do it for the love of it. Same for a fertilizer supplier or a plant breeder. Everyone needs to make money. It makes the world go round ... when you make money you can invest in your businesses future and that benefits yourself, your family and the wider community.
Our country towns died because farmers struggled for 40 years to make good profits and big business didn't invest in the towns because the profits they could extract from the community were louzy. Thats about to change ... deurbanization coming up.
