I can't see how the timing is any indication of the size of the potential pharma partner.
Deals take time and they will be working to their own time frames. I don't think the prospective partner will let exclusivity expire without putting a final walk away offer on the table.
Don't think this is easy going. The partner will be trying to get this as cheap as possible and Neu will be wanting as much as possible. There will be lost of strategic negotiating taking place and I don't expect Treagus to roll over. There may well be some brinkmanship taking place and Neuren may run them to the end of the period to make them blink.
If you don't have faith that they will deliver then I suggest you get out now. If they don't get the deal done the SP is headed south.
