I used to use lucy jet to bait foxes at lambing time. It is also good on crows plus wood ducks and galahs when they come in numbers and attack crops. Used at low levels it sickened but didn't kill the birds. They got over it but then stayed away from the crops. My wife used to gather the semi paralyzed galahs and hold them in an aviary until they recovered, then release them.
When 1080 became available we used that to bait the crows and foxes. The crows were a pest as they would watch for ewes lambing and pick the eyes out of the lambs as they were being born.
We mainly used 1080 as a poison for rabbit control. It was mixed with chopped carrot and laid in a trail around the property.
