It is definitely protection against ignorance and I would happily admit to that!
Unfortunately I don't have time or skills required to perform in-depth analysis on stocks similar to what an equities research analyst might do at a firm. While I do have some guidelines/rules that I stick to, at the end of the day some of it is just to trust my gut... like many of you I also followed closely what birdman29 had to say about NEA and I'm very happy that I did!
