Happiness is not producing 8-12 kids in the hope that some survive to adulthood and hopefully one or two just might support you in your old age because the country you live in hasn’t the capacity to provide any social services to the elderly.
Perhaps it’s just me but I think the country’s with low birth rates and higher economic prosperity have “higher rates of happiness” than the countries with very high birth rates.
